NINJA makes Japan more fun
At any time of great upheaval in Japan, there may have been ninja in the shadows.
Sometimes fighters, sometimes spy-like espionage agents, the shinobi of Japan have never stood at the forefront, preferring to carry out their missions in shadows and darkness. These are the ninja. They differ from their depiction in historical dramas, manga, and novels. Ninja groups have continued to be active in various parts of Japan.
The art of ninjutsu is full of wisdom and experience that has been handed down, tailored to circumstances. Some of its aspects offer useful techniques for living in the present age. The time has come when the power of the ninja is needed once more to bring more interest and fun to contemporary Japan, a time when everyone is going stir-crazy. Who are the ninja? And how can they make Japan interesting?
The NINJA PROJECT will begin soon. It’s a great way to enjoy ninja-related content, while also rediscovering history and learning about the fascinating story of ninja, including modern ninja and how ninja might evolve in the future, through various forms of entertainment.

Discover fascinating aspects of various parts of Japan through the existence of NINJA
Ninja, who are present all over Japan, separate into two teams—red and black—and commence their activities. This is where everything starts.
Smartphones in hand, let's embark on a journey. You can take either the red or the black route to encounter ninja, and the two routes sometimes pass by each other, intersect, run parallel, and branch. Guided by tales of ninja, everyone traveling these routes discovers different and fascinating aspects of Japan.
Chapter one takes place in the Kansai region, where the history and legends of the ninja still linger in many places.
The red route is a journey around Japan’s two major ancient capitals and its city of merchants. It features a tour of the Kansai region, starting from Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and three other cities that played an essential role in Japan’s history. The black route is a tour of the Japan that's even older than Kyoto, starting from Wakayama and going south to the Kii Peninsula, the Kumano-kodo trails, and Ise-Shima.
Journeying around these two courses, encountering red and black ninja, you'll discover the stories of every land you visit, enjoy local specialties, be amazed by spectacular scenery, and experience the many charms of Japan.
Chapter 2 takes place on the Tokaido Highway, Japan's main artery, and the Nakasendo and Koshu Dochu, which retain the nature and history quintessential of Japan.
The red route starts from the ancient city of Kamakura in the east, crosses Mt. Fuji, and travels along the Tokaido Highway, which has prospered as Japan's largest highway since the Edo period, to Tokugawa Ieyasu's own backyard, Mikawa. The black route circles around the naturally rich areas of Kiso, Suwa, Matsumoto, and Kofu surrounded by 3,000-meter mountains and makes a triumphant return to Edo.
